New Intel 520 Series LAUNCHED!! BUY NOW!

I agree. I would choose Intel over any other drive personally they are rock solid (Ommiting the firmware issues with the 320 series) and iirc we have had a very very low failure rate (1 maybe 2 drives out of hundreds) and as usual the intel warranty was fantastic.

Ive been quite happy with my current 80GB intel, only issue is its not quite big enough.
Ill probably get one of these second hand later on, bit too expensive at the moment though :(

Looking for a bit advice, I want to buy one of these now, but I will only be able to run at Sata II speed, 3gb. I am looking to upgrade my computer to Ivy Bridge in the summer, with this in mind, any reason not to click the buy button?

Thank in advance

I was interested in a 64GB SSD as a boot drive and was looking forward to what Intel would bring to the table. Great performance by the looks of it, but at £1.92/GB i'd much rather go for the M4.
Pretty much this. M4 64gb's can be picked up for around £74 and Intel want £120 for their 60gb, perhaps if i needed the faster write speeds i'd be tempted but i don't. I can't think of anything i do that would require it.

SSDs have always carried a premium on release, give it a few months to settle down if price is an issue. Enjoying using my Corsair GT 120GB, seems to be the better performer vs Intel (capacity is now 70% full and can't re-run for fair screenshot comparison), that was £200 on release and now around the £150 mark which reflects the performance as it does with Intel here.

Thanks Andrew Moore for the bench results :)

These are built for reliability if that kind of thing concerns you. I;m for one of these or the Samsung 830, have until the i7 3820 comes in stock before I decide:)

After having 3 different OCZ drives fail on me in 6 months I think paying a small premium for proper validation, testing and a longer warranty doesn't sound too bad at all.

I too am waiting for reviews on the new Samsung before I hit buy.
