Why on earth are ppl taking the **** outa the guy, can you not read he said his English is not very good, this place really gets on my **** sometimes.

Its only me being grumpy, must have missed out on my lie in this morning. He already had one thread deleted for typing like that, and there's nothing wrong with his English as such, its just the spelling that makes it hard to understand.

WOW they used the best parts of Pentium twice?? ;)

I'm taking it you were thinking of Pentium D??

I'm going to regret taking the **** aint I?? :(

Stelly

Again my gramma is not the best either, and yes I meant Pentium D.

Since the old thread was remuved I will tri and make this one more easy to reed and understand. Sorry that my english is not very good. My mate frank is checking over this post to make shore its a bit more readable.

*** I wanna no is *** makes the new intel chips so good. Frank says it's cos of new ram and motherboards but I aint sure cos the new ones from ADM are not ment to be as quick as the new ones from Intel and they have new ram and motherboards too...

Any one explain? I want to leartn but people need to make things knowable for people with not much undrestanding

Fanks

if your English problems are genuine mate, and it seems that people are more than quick off the make fun of you(disgraceful really) i suggest you use a spell checker to check you spelling. If you go to http://www.iespell.com/ and download the the little program it provides you with an dictionary that you can use for free to check you work. All you have to do is just highlight text you want to use and pick check and it will suggest to you words you can use.

good luck :)

Very well said, good point there.

Also, like siad before nothing to do with the motherboard, or ram.

I said for years, that if intel had bolted on the P4's Quad pumped FSB, onto a die shrunk P3 they would have had a really fast processor.

But conroe does so much more than that, P4 had a very good OOE engine, and parts of that were apparently lifted, improved and then added to conroe. Improved because they extened it from 3IPC, to 4+1IPC.. (The +1 is a rare situation where conroe can replace 2 instructions with a special combined instruction, so ocassionally it can give the illusion of processing 5 instructions in parallel... on each core)

i dont know why but your spelling makes me giggle, infact i was feeling pretty bored at this hour (3am) untill i read through the thread. thanks

Because its far easier to understand proper English than text speak, most of which is filtered by the forums. His last thread was deleted because of its lack of literacy.
In this case, I don't think it's a case of a semiliterate oaf babbling text speak garblish. That deserves to be ignored by everyone and deleted by the moderators for wasting space, as well as being reviled as a an ugly corruption of a beautiful langauge. Using text speak garblish is like going into an art gallery and crapping on the exhibits. Except for a modern art gallery, where it would probably be considered part of the art.

I think this poster has trouble reading and writing. They mention having dyslexia, which allows them a lot of slack with me when it comes to their abysmal grasp of written English.

Only a little bit.

They only work with motherboards that use an i975X chipset (though they will work with motherboards that use the i965 chipset when it comes out). So Core 2 CPUs only work with high-end motherboards. It's not that the motherboards for Core 2 are behind the increase in performance, it's that Core 2 CPUs only work in high-end motherboards.

That also allows for the memory to run at relatively high speeds, so the same thing applies.

Neither are specific to Core 2 though - you could put a Pentium4 in the same motherboard with the same memory. The performance increase is due the CPUs themselves - Core 2 is simply a far better CPU design than Pentium 4 (and Athlon64).

Without going into any detail:

Core 2 can handle more instructions simultaneously than Pentium4 or Athlon64.

Core 2 wastes fewer clock cycles than Pentium4.

Core 2 is far better at handling the cache with dual core than dualcore Pentium4s or Athlon64s.

If the OP is dyslexic, then spell-checking won't work for him. WE have to make allowances for him.

MinstaDave - with your attitude we'd beat him for being thick, put a dunces hat on him and call him the village idiot. Get with the programme old chap - this is the 21st century. I thought we were here to help people. Best basic explanation of why Conroe is quicker I've seen though.

That's not entirely correct - the Core Duos will work in any current dual-core compatible motherboard if you modify the on-board power supply and tell the BIOS to recognise them. That's why most current 975 chipset motherboards don't work with them, even though they are already BIOS compatible.

I actually have a Conroe compatible motherboard - The ASRock 775 TWINS R2.0 and it cost less than £50 incl. of delivery. It's based on the ATI Radeon Xpress Chipset which is dirt cheap. It even has decent on-board graphics. SIS also have a very cheap chipset (662?) that works with Conroe if the board will supply the voltage correctly. You need to check the model and release of any new motherboard very carefully. A few of them are already Conroe compatible, they are just not mentioning it as they want you to buy a £150 one.

ASUS are even readying an i865 chipset board (I don't know why, they just are) that will support Conroe. There will be lots of cheap chipset motherboards for Conroe, once the initial geek gouging phase passes.

Angilion nad wja69, those are good explains of thats gogin on! fanks!

So are their ayn other boards wich wood be cheap? That (if i read corrct) could mean you cna build a new one of these systems for cheap?

I don't see why because a P3 chip wouldn't have taken advantage of even a fraction of the FSB bandwidth available to it.

Core 2 is a culmination of many things and it really does need them all to work how it does.

If that really is the case then I apologise for being out of order.
