New intel CPUs?

The new server cpu's are out already
The new mobiles will be out early Jan
The new desktop dual cores will be out late Jan
The new desktop quads will be out sometime after that

You wont find any links until after they are launched i would think.

Just asking (not really derailing but this topic seems to be appropriate), the E8300 will be about the same as an E6550, the E8400 will be about the price of an E6750 and the E8500 will be around the price of the E6850 right?

Yip pretty much.

Only the ones with unlocked multi's may ever get there.

Well, the E8400 will have a 9 multi (333x9 = 2997), even if it has the same FSB wall as the quads (450-ish) then it'll have a good chance of 4Ghz (450x9 = 4050). Now since people've been saying they've got QX9650's to 4Ghz on air, it might not be too much of a stretch to get the E8400 to that on similar cooling due to them producing less heat.

Now, the E8500 has a 9.5 multi, that's 4275mhz at 450mhz FSB... Still not doing too bad for a non-extreme chip.

Intel decided not to produce the E2200. The Wolfdale CPU's look very good and clock really high though. I can see a lot of people going for these over the Quad's.

Where can i find info on these chips? Will there be anything to rival the e2180 at that end of the price spectrum?

edit: cant get the PDFs on this page to open can someone copy paste list of chips?

Not sure which PDF you were after but they all open okay on my linux lappy.. from the 45nm_spec&pricing.pdf:

If that's not the right screengrab, let me know which one is :)

Full listing of new intel CPU prices in 1000 unit quantities.

NOT RRP!

So it looks like Jan 20th is the day for 45nm! (discounting the current extreme and general availability on 20th). I wonder how those prices compare to the existing ones?

A friend of mine just upgraded to a E6750 - I told him to wait a month for 45nm but he wouldn't listen - would be nice to see how much he would have saved/or got a quad for the same price.. so that I can rub it in :D

He still can't use it however as he brought the Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L nForce 650i motherboard from OCUK which needs a BIOS update to support the 1333fsb CPU. :(
