New intel mobile processors? Viiv??

ok cool

thanks guys.

are there replacements for the Core2duo on the mobile market would you know? i.e. are quad cores planned for the near future?

Quad cores are planned for the second half of 2008 afaik although they're likely to be used in desktop replacements rather than portable laptops due to the power usage.

would you mind letting me know where i can read up on this?

thanks

Considering the T7400's get up to 85 degrees under full load, isn't a quad core pantamont to suicide?!

No, because the laptop you are referring to probably won't ever see a quad inside it.

Now the laptops that can and will have them. The dell xps m1730, alienware m17x, sager, eurocom, etc have beefy heatsinks and power supplies that are able to even handle desktop quad cores.
When I had my m1730 it kept the t7700 at around room temp idle and about 30-40c load. That's was with two 8700m gt's and a pci-e physx processor added to the mix. :)

the max tdp for mobile XE processors is 44w, the quad and current mobile XE fit into this.
