New Ipads

Why is 13 inch stupid, I have a Ipad 3 and have said all along I'd like a bigger one rather than smaller for home use.

I'd buy a 17 inch one if they bought it out for home and a mini for travelling about. I would definately buy a 13 inch version.

The weight would be ridiculous for any extended use. 10" is about the max without going over board on the weight and size.

The Mini has sold far too well for Apple to even think about releasing a bigger iPad than the 4. The iPad 5 will be even smaller in overall size, so you can see the trend that is happening.

Theoretically - would it be possible for an iPad mini 2 to have the A6X chip and still use a touch ID sensor?

I'm really hoping for an iPad mini 2 with retina display and Touch ID, I'm not too bothered about it having a 64 bit processor ATM although it would be a nice touch.

They could easily make it lighter as it gets bigger, look at the iMacs now, there is barely anything to them.

All I want for the iPad Mini refresh is a Retina display because I just love that on the iPad 4 but it's less convenient to carry around for me, and a more powerful CPU/GPU so it doesn't lag with iOS 7.

I currently have the 64GB one, but would be happy to downgrade to the 32GB to accommodate a possible price increase.

I remember everyone expecting the iPad 2 to be Retina and it wasn't. I suspect they may do the same for the Mini 2 - make everyone wait one more year.

I'd go to Android in that case. I was playing around with the Google Nexus 7 on the weekend. It's a lovely little thing. Apple constantly holding back hardware to drain you of your last penny is really getting on my nerves now.

Fact of the matter is that if they were to include it, then it might push the price point up thus draining you of more pennies. Whilst keeping the same screen and adding other options might not warrant a price increase and by next year the retina display will be cheaper...

I've not once thought on my iPad... "Wish this had retina"... Not sure it needs it to be honest. Bonus feature yes, deal breaker, no (IMO)

See that's all I do think about. Whenever I pick it up, it's always in the back of my mind. "I wish this had more pixels."

Don't get me wrong. I love my mini to bits and enjoy using it but I'm exposed to higher PPI displays every day on my iPod/other family tablet and it just bugs me.

LOL 17" ipad.... be like walking around with a monitor...hehe

Id probably get the new mini but only if it has retina display, if it doesnt then ill be looking at the Android tablets. My poor Blackberry playbook no longer works so i need something small and light so i can browse the net when downstairs and not in front of my laptop.

Probably wont get retina screen on the mini 2 which would be a shame if they didnt.

That would be a deal breaker for me, but I really don't want another full size iPad :(

Well, looking about today, supposedly the parts have been measured for the shell of the new iPad mini and it's ever so slightly bigger than the model it's replacing. The Retina 3rd Gen iPad was slightly bigger than the iPad 2 although identical in terms of design. Make of it what you will.

Doubt it will get a retina display, its not sound economically, and also makes the iPad a bit redundant too most folks as they would just get the smaller one if the screens where just as good (or better since the mini would most likely be sharper).

I think there going to focus on keep it as thin and light as possible will maintain awesome battery life, and the iPad will remain the powerhouse device.
