Where though? Seems massively risky to sell on ebay.

Its not at all

if a buyer pays through paypal you are 100 % protected.

Just send the item via a delivery method thats insured and if its damaged / lost in the phone you just give them the tracking code and tell them to contact royal mail for a claim.

The only possible problem woul be if you guy a buyer who lied and said the phone was faulty when it wasnt, and asked for a refund.

In such cases they would have to send the phone back to you, so you just sell it again and pay another 60p listing fee or whatever. Hardly the end of the world.

Its the chunk of money eBay take from you after selling tho, its pretty horrendous, esp when you enter anything thats going for a couple of hundred.

And what happens if they send you back a brick?

then you file a dispute with paypal. They cant just return you a brick and think they can get away with it.

They'd have to proove they sent it back to you.

I'm notthe only one with 3gs signal probs! I'm on vodafone and I'm Brighton and london I can sometimes have zero signal to very low to the point where calls frequently cut out and txts don't send:(
what's the going theory onthe best way to upgrade? sell our 3gs's?

Mines a year old it's got to be worth more than £282.50
If it's less than £350 IMHO it's not worth the up grade

You'll have to use someone other than Royal Mail, as they no longer insure mobile phones in parcels for Special or Recorded Delivery. It has been that way for quite a while now.

Hmmm.

Whats your source for this. Quick googling brings up cases of them paying out for lost mobile phones...

A trawl of their terms and conditions brings nothing up

ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/p.../Special Delivery Specific terms March 10.pdf

Neither does it mention anything on their compensation bit.

And indeed ebay itself advocates using Special Delivery
