New Ipod touch not syncing

Hi
I recently got a new ipod touch and it won't sync with itunes for me (it wont load my songs onto it),I had a ipod nano before this on it and that would sync fine.

any help appreciated

You're gonna have to be more specific. What do you mean by 'won't load my songs onto it'? What happens?

When I go to file and click on sync its says step 1 of 3,2of3,3of3 but no songs are loading onto the touch,does that make sense?

Check th settings for the iPod when it is connected in iTunes. It may be set to manual manage music and you have nothing selected.

Yep, sounds like it's set to manually manage - either change this so it syncs all ticked stuff or else just drag some music or playlists onto the iPod in iTunes to manually sync stuff.

Is that in itunes itself? or is it on the actual ipod?
