Ive got TOCA 3 and looking to get another racing game. What's good? Ive heard about DIRT but that's about it. Any Grand Prix games come out recently?

if you can find Grand Prix 4 there are some amazing MODs out that fully update it to last years season with new gfx and performance. Its still the best racer of its type (imo)

DiRT is a cracking game although i believe some people have had trouble getting a steady frame rate, its brilliant though and if you like Toca then this will suit you sir,

Sega Rally is also quite good fun but a total arcade racer, again if you were a fan of the previous versions this wont disappoint,

If you like your online racing, rFactor has some excellent F1 mods. In particular, check out the work of the car team development project at
www.ctdpworld.org
Yep rFactor and LFS rule. :)

rFactor gets another vote from me, but stay away from the F1 mods;)
Oi! I presume you mean they take up so much of your time because they are so good?

RFactor, LFS & Richard Burns rally are must haves.
Rfactor has so many mods out there that you will find at least 3 you won't want to live without. Caterhams are best in my opinion.
LFS is instant online racing & plays Lovely.
Richard Burns Rally is The Ultimate experience as far as driving on the PC goes. Very steep learning curve but the satisfaction of completing a rally & making the Podium is 2nd to None.

As ever malc30 is on the ball. I have RBR but I've never managed to get far into it, such is the learning curve! Part of the problem is that I can never get the steering stiff enough (ooh er missus!) for me. I cannot drive a car when the steering is sensitive! I need it so I have to really make the car turn, in RBR for example the car just spins out of control if the steering is too light. :(

I have played a lot of main PC "Simulations" over the years (rFactor, GTR2, GT Legends etc.) but the one that I play most now is RACE07. A great physics model and a variety of cars from F3000 down to Minis.
Lots of games to choose from but preference varies depending on whether you want to play on-line and if you prefer a "simulation" (e.g. rFactor) or a more "arcade" game (e.g. NFS, TOCA2)

Im just a beginner. Looking for something easy to get into like toca 3 really. GTR 2 and tdu look about right for me I reckon. Thanks for the input.

GTR2 on Arcade is for you then matey. Looks & sounds great & less buggy than the original. Get a 2nd hand copy of GTL as well ;)

dunno, got kinda bored with TDU, great whilst you still have cars you want or houses, or bits of the island to explore to find that perfect road

TDU is boring. Played it for quite a while just to unlock some top cars but the handling is so impossibly bad and the roads are so insanely bumpy that they're no fun to drive.

I'm currntly playing the LFS demo. It's great fun driving round the wrong way and seeing how many racers you can force to retire. My name is "The brick wall" and I have a custom skin to match it.

The only racing game i've found enjoyable to take seriously is trackmania united (stadium mode). It's the only game that gives you a real bum-clenching impression of speed, and the arcade handling makes it feel like you can really push your car to the max, whereas I find I never get the same thrill of speed in realistic games where I have to be constantly weary of sliding or locking up my brakes etc.
