New ISP but which one?

hi people , i am currently looking for a new isp as at the moment i am using a dongle.

which is the best adsl provider to go with ? Also is it possible to get connect without having a phone package set up? because we canceled our virgin media package, so now have no phone or tv, alls i want is internet.

imho if you can get decent speeds via adsl then go with sky as they have a proper unlimited package. if you will get poor speeds then i'd go with virginmedia cable.

Virginmedia will provide internets without phone or TV.

If you can get Cable its awsome.
if you can't we use Titanadsl where i work, pretty descent ADSL provider.

If they've unbundled your exchange, I couldn't recommend anyone higher than Be Unlimited. Full speed at any time of day, no throttling or shaping that I've noticed, and excellent customer service.

Hi there, If you have a look on Samknows you will get a list of the LLU ISPs available at your exchange.

As mentioned above, BE Unlimited are a fantastic ISP. The would be my first choice if available.

I believe sky have a larger reach than BE - so if you can't get BE (and you have sky TV) then they are the next best option imho.

I've been on O2 for the last couple of years and they've been great. Customer services are excellent when you have a problem, unlimited usage, and dirt cheap if you have an O2 mobile

ETA: doh. Should read the thread more carefully. You need a BT landline so no use to you

Hmm, that site says my line is capable of 2mbs max.........i sync at 7.5 :confused:

Virgin 50 meg if you can get it, then BT infinity if you can get it else BE
