So I am starting a new ITX build to put in my living room and will be using the Asrock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming ITX and Ryzen 1600x.

I am currently debating which memory kit and cooler to use.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a ram kit? It doesn't have to be the fastest around.
I'm not sure if I'll go for 8 or 16GB but the system will be used for VR and conventional gaming.

If I go for 16GB I can't spend more than £165 max. I have looked at the QVL list on the motherboard website but not sure how up to date it is. Would appreciate some advice on this.

Also I am thinking of picking up the Noctua NH-L9X65 SE-AM4 cooler. Has anyone used this cooler?

8Pack 3200c14 is working great at 3200 on yhe board. Very fast and efficient which ryzen needs.

The QVL list not complete. Personally, I bought 2x G skill RGB ram, 3200mhz, cl14. Absolutly fabulous. If you want to be sure that your RAM is compatible, go with Corsair. You should take 16GB.
And... ASRock, I'm actually building PC with this board and there is lots of problems. My MSI x370 is 36520% better.
First, I could not install windows, as the format was wrong (you need to change something in BIOS). I figured out what was causing the problem over 5 hours.
Second thing, I'm not sure how's the RAM speed goes. Well, I bought Corsair (2x4) 8GB for that build, 3000 mhz and one of the sticks was faulty. On one stick is works on 3000 mhz.
And the LED radiator is a huuuge lie, it is not that bright like on picture.

Hi Karol
Thanks for the feedback. Can you remember what you had to change in the BIOS? I was considering Corsair ram but had a lot of problems with that on my MSI B350 MATX build. I then bought the G Skill RGB Ram which stopped working after 2 weeks. Ended up going with Flare X which has been great but pricey.

Well... Maybe problems with install Ing windows happened only to me. I dont know, however... That was something with... Um Gpt format. Never heard about that before I had my problem. Well, I saw the solution in the net. My board was set to second kind of memoriał called mbr, but mbr only works to Windows 7 and older. I had to change something from Legacy to Uefi in 'Storage' settings

Ah that makes sense, I would have thought the storage settings would have defaulted to UEFI.
Will look out for that.
