New Jedi Knight Game - is there gonna be one?

the jk series was cool but i wouldn't consider it anywhere near as good as the kotor series.. when it comes down to it it is a simple hack and slash.. the badguys rarely proove a challenge and the force powers while cool are just novelties

didn't mean to be so harsh there... i loved the games, they were great... but are no longer original

kotor on the other hand has a cool plot, which saves it and makes it original

a new flightsim would come top of my list though :)

As Single Player. KOTOR wins hands down. There's simply nothing in it.

Multiplayer jk2/a though was far more than a hack and slash though, as I said in my previous post, most of the people who played it knew jack about some of the moves you could pull off that weren't mainstream. There were some serious combos being used by the better players :)

KOTOR 3 should be on the books as it was always going to be a trilogy. Saying that I have to agree that x-wing alliance was my faviourite so I would prefer a new one of these ( Or tie fighter which was way ahead of its time )

Yes, someone finally mentioned Tie Fighter! That game was amazing, much better than the recent SW bumf (although XWA was very good). Tie Fighter was THE game that got me into computer games, 11-13 years ago!
Amazingly good gfx for the time, a decent single player story, missions that seemed to develop and go on forever, new craft and missions too unlock. Would absolutely rock to see a conversion of it with todays gfx, perhaps running with recommended specs of a 9800Pro, with good fps, and extreme fps and graphical lovelies for high end owners.
No offence all you who like KOTOR, JK etc but SW gaming wise, nothing has really touched the greatness of the early flightsims.

PS. I loved the little book that came with the 5 disk boxed set of Tie Fighter, did anyone ever buy the continued novel?

We all know we loved the opening level on Shadows of the Empire :D

I couldn't bring myself to play JA, but thats probably only because I tried it recently, and the quality seemed so poor in comparison to what else is available. Oppositely, at it's release, I found JK2 to be amazing.
I hope they do another KOTOR, it would awesome, especially if they involve more Sith tie ins, perhaps Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma.

It was the best game around at the time, This was back in the days of sonic and mario 2D games. Then X-wing first I belive ( altho I never had this ) followed by tie fight with a full 3D environment and all the ships from star wars. The best thing about it was versitily you had when flying your ship, controling shield direction, power levels, how your lazers fired. Seems like simple stuff now but back then it was amazing.

Right then.... All we need to do now is get someone to blackmail lucasarts into making a new SW flightsim.

Even the original vector gfx Star Wars in the arcade was good, I actually bought an updated version of that to play on my Atari Jaguar (cough)

combo's huh? i could do some spinny moves, the backstab move... and didn't everyone have a special move (i remember the 2 ls one involved them both spinning around u)

but other than that the game involved a lot of tapping the strafe buttons (to pull off the spinning attacks) ... and good timing for when you were in heavy stance

cool yes... but unless they were to radically add to the game im not sure the next one would be any different
