Earlier today I was accepted onto Hewlett-Packard's Graduate Development scheme and am the proud new owner of the title "Technical Consultant". Over 2500 applicants, 25 positions and one of them is me!

Unfortunately I need to move to Bracknell before I start in September but its all go go go!!

I'm so pleased and havnt been able to sit still all afternoon!

i was about to shout congratulations :D then you mentioned Bracknell...

Is anyone here from Bracknell or the surrounding area? I have no idea what I will need to do to get a move sorted!

Luckily they give me a £3000 golden hello to help with relocation (and beer). And a £25k salary will certainly help.

Not bad for a 20yr old :)

congrats...........we'll be able to meet for lunch as i'm at 3M. Will you be renting? If you are, I can hook you up with some Landlord numbers etc, if you want.

In addition, its worth Looking at houses in Wokingham, Reading, Camberley as Bracknell is a complete dump to live in,......

Marshmule.............tup, your placement aint as Jack Bauer as mine!!

I expect I will be renting yeah, but as I said I have no idea where to even start! My job will involve a lot of travelling and working from different offices so I need to find out where I will be most of the time and where it is best to relocate too.

For some reason I assumed that Bracknell was a dump... why is that?!

Cos its near Slough!!! Well Wokingham, your bang on the door for M3 and M4 motorways and no more than 30 miles from centre of London on either. You probably couldnt get more central than that. Its about 15 mins drive to Bracknell, but (as major MAJOR companies have their H/Os in Bracknell like 3M, C&W, etc) the road infrastucture is surprisingly crap! I arrive at work at 7:45 in the morning and it takes a good half hour to drive 9 miles from the M3 junction (jnct 3 M3) to 3M..........(hmm, 3M off the M3...teehee), becuase the traffic is so bad and you think all the dual carriage ways are brilliant, but all the HO buildings are serviced by single carriageway roads, so it all just bottle necks....

Well done. My ex works there. I live down the road in a nicer area :p I advise you not to live in Bracknell. Move to Reading, its the lesser of two evils. Decent shops, rail, buses, night life and lots of student type places ( I guess that can be good or bad).
Dont move to Wokingham, as there is no night life. Same goes for Camberley.

If you're moving to work in Bracknell I have to recommend Windsor. It's an awesome place to live :D You pay that little bit extra for the priviledge but it's worth every penny. You should be fine on a £25k salary too.

If you want to come visit the area to have a look I'd be more than happy to show you around, even though I've only been living here for a tad over a month.:p

Too Near Slough tbh :p

Windsor is a good place to live as well (didnt cross my mind). Very nice place actually....as long as you avoid the asian rudeboys who hop over from Slough. It only has one nightclub though (if thats your thang). I still say go for Reading :D

The chavs usually stick to driving round the carparks at the weekend or else go to the wetherspoons. If you avoid the 'spoons there's no problems at all. I'm out in town 2 to 3 times a week and have no bother at all, I love it :)

Congratulations mate.

Not bad for a graduate starting salary.

Could I possibily have a copy of your CV if you don't mind as am in the process of looking for very similar work. :)
