Yes work online, something in that category, as at the moment my aim is to get big on youtube, but that will take of course a lot of time and I need a income at the moment.
'Getting big on youtube' shouldn't be a goal for making money, it should be something you enjoy doing, any money earned from it is a side bonus, if you end up getting enough to do it full time then thats a bonus. (Don't delude yourself that youtubers are rich).
Ask yourself, would you make videos out of enjoyment, for years on end, if you only get a few hundred views per video? If not then i seriously suggest you don't attempt it as a career path.
On a different note, i was unemployed for 7 months, it sucks not getting replies, but flood the market with your CV. I know you're looking a bit web based, but if you get offered a job, any job, take it. Then play on the experience part of your CV hard, really push the family business, if you get a job and dont like it, do it for a few months and move on, do a few jobs if you must, its more experience, more references (provided you work well for these jobs, boring or not

), and more to talk about in interviews.
The biggest hurdle for me was experience, and i had qualifications in my field, i'd say having neither you need some really diverse experience, and then go for a job in the correct field starting right at the bottom, work your way up. Be honest with employers, state your interest, say why you want to work in this field, but admit you need to learn and are willing to. Some employers will need someone who can hit the ground running, others are willing to help someone out, they just need a bit of the slack relieved.
Look into your web field, do some home education, learn web design for example if thats what you want, (you didnt seem too specific in the first few posts, but ive not read extensively [sorry!]). Look for exam centers where you could do a field specific qualification (Buy the books, learn at home, do the exam for £80 odd and you've got a qualification). Obviously this would be in the aforementioned period of time where you're in a random job, or still working for family so you have SOME money.
If you did all that you'd stand a good chance imo... just be sure you're doing whatever career path because you want to, not because 'x and y make z money doing it'.... 40 years of work later the money better of been worth it if you didnt like the job.
