Looks like I'm right then, you really do need to get a grip...
A kettle only does ONE thing, boils water....
Phones can do more than one thing
The what toaster should I buy is bad enough
Haven't used a kettle in ages. I use the instant boil feature on our La Specialista.
For energy efficiancy, you're much better moving over to something like this.
The one posted a few posts back by mrk is a lot nicer looking, but out of stock.

you can't spend a minute filling a tea-pot with water from an instant heat device which won't be maintaining a good 100C versus 5s dumping a boiling kettle into it.
... an iphone makes good phone calls, but for all other tasks browsing/photos/music other dedicated devices are superior,
I spend more time every day manipulating a kettle than a phone ... so it's utility is important.
I've got a kettle - mostly because we're British and every kitchen needs a kettle.Thing with those, is that what do you do when you need a 'kettle' worth of water?
what's the alternative GenZ red bull ... tinned frapuccino ....Some people in here really do need to boil the kettle and have a tea or coffee lol.

In the time it's taken to boil the kettle, the instant hot water machine would have filled the teapot with boiling water.Asda still have a good option https://direct.asda.com/george/home/kettles-toasters/black-fast-boil-kettle-17l

For sure the kettle we have will have you reaching for the blood pressure tabs
Pretty good price atm as we paid £50 more.
Yikes!
It is our second one and third of this type and really suits our needs in the kitchen.
Approx £30 is what i would pay for a kettle.
multi-tasking - I switch the kettle on at lunch/breakfast time go and do something else ~3mins, finish washing/prepping breakfast come down and fill the tea-pot in 5s ... productivity. In the time it's taken to boil the kettle, the instant hot water machine would have filled the teapot with boiling water.
