Ok so my blackwidow died, (it was sticky so i plucked the keys off and cleaned them replaced them all and now 3 keys wont work z space and x) Quite angry about that. Amazing feel to type with once u get past the stupid loud clicks. But still feel cheated on build quality (no box now possibly recipt as it's an xmas press from december)

So i need advice is the Qpad MK 80 or 85 worth the money? or will it go the same way as my razor? cherry blue vs red. Or should i just get the merc stealth and live with membrane but with sexy fps key layout?

Actually shock? is it the barge pole syndrome? or did i actually post in the wrong forum? i didn't see a "keyboard" section if i derped sorry about that but my questions still stand

I don't really have much input except to say I have a g19 and it's the most annoying thing I've bought for my pc.

To be fair it's because my motherboard doesn't like it, but it's also very loud..
Can't bring myself to replace it though, given how much it cost me.

I had a Razer tarantula a while back. Useless thing ghosted all the time and then the B key stopped working. Won't be buying another razer keyboard.

if you have mech board budget. dont get anything that isnt a mech board.

the mk85 is the better of the two qpads imho. but only because I dont like blues now after getting used to reds.

I have a G15 but the v1 version, pre-revision.

I adore it, there is a decent space between keys and the board itself so makes cleaning it with air incredibly easy. The display I originally thought was useless, however I sync mine with MSI afterburner and Coretemp at the moment, so it displays cpu, gpu temps, loads, voltages etc.

There is also a skype applet, which is a godsend, it allows you to answer skype calls or reply to messages via the keyboard, which is amazing if you are fed up of getting tabbed out of League of Legends!

My previous keyboard was the Microsoft Sidewinder. To be fair, although it is cheap as far as gaming boards go, I never had a problem with it. It was a bit annoying to clean though, the keys are almost touching each other.

I can't stand Razer products. I had one of their headsets which was just a nightmare, and their mousemats are, imo, horrible to work with as well. I've used Steelseries for all of my peripherals bar keyboard, and have been really happy with every purchase so far.

why are people suggesting for the OP to get a G15? he is clearly looking at high end mechanical keyboards

moreover, the G15 has not been in production for over a year now?

are you all just mentioning the keyboard you have and not actually reading the original post?

im using a g15 and because its such a nive board am updating to a g510 soon i just like logitech boards but the mionix zibal is a good board by all accounts

Does he not mention the Merc Stealth? That is not a mechanical keyboard as far as i'm aware? Or am I mistaken :S

It's a step up keyboard the blackwidow was my first mechanical always had membrane. But was shocked that it just flat out died like that. I did leave it a while and tried again the nxt day but it was still the same issue so it's now lining the bin XD

defo gonna have to get anotehr mechanical as they do feel much nicer on the Dfingers.

I'll defo be getting the mk85 pretty sold on the looks of it though i shall be abstaining from smoking in the room so as not to get bloody ash in it :P

I'd recommend giving Razer a shout before binning it, its not very old and should still be working. You might be surprised and then not have to replace it. I had a diamondback 3G fail and didn't have the recript and they replaced that.

The difference in using a mechanical keyboard from a regular one is amazing. I would never go back to a non mechanical one now. It makes typing so much easier and quicker, particularly if you touch type, but even if you just use a couple of fingers it works well. The weight also helps, nothing ever moves around the desk with a mechanical keyboard and everyhthing feels so much easier to do.

If you do want a new one it does depend on what key feel you want to use though and whether its more about gaming or typing or a balance of the two. There is quite a difference in feel between the different key types.

I recently moved on from a Black Widow, was looking for a Cherry Brown keyset as I do a lot of typing and coding on it from home (which makes the one at work completely a menace, I should take my old BW in). I like the feel of the browns over the blues myself and you don't get such an audible click as on the blues. If doing a lot of gaming though the reds and blacks tend to get a better recommendation from what I have read. So I'd balance the reviews of the different boards with some reading on what the keysets offer.

This is a good read

I'd recommend giving a Filco keyboard a try.

Overclockers sell the Zowie Celeritas though and it is well reviewed brown (with some comments about the type face on the keys but luckily Cherrys can be replaced).
