My log G15 is gradually giving up the ghost (both 0 keys have stopped working) and I figure its time for a new keyboard.
I like the features on the Razer Anansi with its extra shift buttons that would suit me for playing WOW but I would also like a keyboard with decent mechanical keys (cherry brown perhaps) any suggestions for a good gaming/general use keyboard? What features do you need or prefer? And what board would you recommend?

Also check youtube for the sound of the switches youtube has a couple of vids on the sounds of the different switches thts how i decided on mine i would link you but i cant while in school :(

really good keyboard ill definetly recommend, been using it for a while now and had no isssues :D

I gor the QPAD MK-80 last week with blue switches. Its one of the best things I have bought, gone back in the office today on a normal keyboard and they now feel awful

GTFO :D

I jest. But with 'any budget' it surely has to be a mech keyboard :)

To be fair, it's a huge improvement over what I had... a standard Dell POS keyboard. I never really had the urge to upgrade after all the cheap Razer products I've previous owned and binned. :p I really should upgrade at some point to a mech keyboard though.

mechanical keyboards are really good for gaming but if you do a lot of typing for school work, i wouldnt reccomend a mechanical as its a total pain when trying to write essays :(

I found that the remedy to this was to learn how to touch type properly. prior to that I was cack hand typing which invariably on a mech board is painful.
I adjusted when I got my Filco cherry brown and never looked back.

;-)

Although not brown switches the Gigabyte Osmium (red switches) is a lovely keyboard. If I wanted the best device to play Warcraft with though i would love one of the new Razer Orbweavers, totally overpriced and probably badly made... still want one.

Typing on a mechanical keyboard is just a matter of getting used to it, i can certainly type faster on my Osmium than my old G15.
