New Keyboard what do you use?

Do you need to install bloatware? What are the differences between the three different modes?

Erm, in all honesty I had no idea what you meant until I looked down and saw the button in the top left :p

I don't ever use the binds, but I expect it means you can cycle through them. I.e. there are 6 buttons, but you're able to assign them different actions in each mode. Just a guess, not really sure.

Might have a play in a bit and find out!

:edit: No bloatware as such, just microsoft driver/software stuff to enable the binds and media functions.

My SMK-88 is my daily driver, but from time to time I flip back to the Matias Tactile Pro 3 when I fancy using Alps switches. Since I've got my SMK-88 though, I've hardly used my Filco with Cherry blue switches. I was hoping to have another two keyboards arrive from Taiwan this month but the shipment has been delayed, so I might not get them until next month. I'm in no rush to get them though. I'm also hoping to acquire a kit for a custom limited run keyboard called the Guru-board, but that all depends on when the designer of the original can put together an affordable kit. I'm hoping that if the Guru-board goes ahead it will put me in a step in the right direction to manufacturing my own keyboard.

saitek cyborg v1 cheap (£10 inc p&p from the bay),no fancy lights or design but still a very responsive gaming keyboard. :)

Tried my Logitech Media keyboard at the same time and it's so horrible compared to the X4!

Oh don't say that! I use a Logitech Media Keyboard 600 and now i'm going to start thinking about changing it...
Would only want another Logitech one at the minute though as it means I can get away with just having the SetPoint software installed for both keyboard and mouse.

Dammit, that's it now I'm looking for a reasonably priced wired Logitech keyboard...

Recommendations seem to be pointing towards Razor and saitek... I do like the Razor Keyboards. Saitek Cyborg has red keys. Just puts me off don't like red. Although the price looks good and I'm sure it's nice!

I've had enough of expensive keyboards.

I replaced my Saitek Eclipse with a Logitech Illuminated which - whilst very nice - had to be replaced as the spacebar was faulty. The replacement has now died and after trying a Razer Arctosa (which was a horrible piece of rubbish), I have bought a Keysonic KSK-8004U (which cost less than a tenner) and I'm very pleased with it.

Loved my Saitek Eclipse. Only changed it due to the fact that I had it for ages and was bored. Still love using it now. Very well built.

Using a Logitech G510 now. Loving the screen on it, lighting options and extra keys, but the keys are narrow compared to the standard, so takes some getting used to.

using one bought for £5 off high street had it 5+ years... they are cheap and simple but sometimes its nice to have something that is simple and just works :)
