Hiya Everyone

I'm on the lookout for a new keyboard, and would like to hear your reccomendations. I currently dont have a specific budget, but cheaper the better I guess.

Needs to be:

Black (If possible)
Not Over-Filled with media, volume controls etc
Wireless (Again, if possible)

Would be a good plus if it did light up, like the Saitek Ecplise 2 but I'm not a big fan of the looks.

Saitek Eclipse 1 is awesome - better than the 2 IMHO.

Not wireless though but incredibly well built!

Massive feet/ pads - once its on your desk it doesn't move! :cool:

Yeah I used to have the Saitek Eclipse, the best Keyboard I have had in a long time. Nice soft keypresses without any resistance. The lighting is a nice feature. This can be turned off if you want. It looked beauty with my razer copperhead. I would defo reccommend one mate. My house got broke into last week and they robbed everything......includng my Dell 24". I'am mortified....
currently saving to get a new system......gonna purchase the eclipse again.

I've got the Eclipse II which I've had for a couple of weeks now and really like.

It doesn't totally match your requirements I'm afraid but it is certainly worth looking into.
Good price at the moment as well at £29+vat as I paid £35+vat for mine.

Is it me or is that a realy weak glow, Im using a £7 glow blue keybaord and it seems to put that to shame. Nice review though, and a nice and tidy website :cool:

The glow is a lot better than my camera could really cope with.
Without flash everything looks dark as my older "point and click" doesn't really give me much in the way of options to slow "exposure" etc.
Of course add a flash and then you lose the glow totally.

You should be able to see the Eclipse keyboard in your local component store.
The Eclipse II is a lot rarer, in fact as far as I know it is only available from OcUK in the UK at the moment - so if it really isn't to youjr liking you'd have to return it.

I've used many keyboards over the years and the Eclipse II is by far the best one I've ever used.
I never owned the original Eclipse, but from what the other reviews say it takes all of the good points of the original Eclipse, removes the small negative features and then you're left with the Eclipse II.
 
Saitek v2.0 ive had it a couple of weeks seems great so far i havnt used the v1.0 so i cant say if its better i think your pretty safe with either :)

The Optimus keyboard looks totally outstanding, but I'm unsure of how long it will be until its release date. I'm quite confident I will go with either the Saitek I or II, still deciding but Im sre both will do great! :D

Still wondering if I should by the logitech revolution MX /drool
 
You can't go wrong mate you will be happy with either you choose I guess. The Saitek v2 seems to have improvements over the first version. Though I have just ordered the Saitek v1 as I know what I am getting with it. Also I don't like the look of the Sv2.

got both eclipse 1 & 2 & I like the feel of the ecplipse 2 as *** keyboard doesnt have the clicky clicky keys & its silent :D good for not annoying anyone if they are sleep in another room as U cant here *** fast typing. The bit where the eclipse 1 will win is that they glow a damn sight better & despite the different colours & brightness selection of the newer version I think it will comne down to personal preference but for a star rating I'd say outta 5.

eclipse 1 3 stars
eclipse 2 4 stars (mainly due to the keys being quieter)

yeah btw the 2nd revision is heavier than thr eclipse 1

Grr, after looking at the both side on side I might have to be ordering the II today, as I believe the offers will change mid-day today?

I take it this keyboard is better than the

"Logitech Cordless Optical Desktop Rechargeable Black/Silver - OEM (KB-058-LG)"

Be a great buying push if you could post some of your pics (Night would be ace) :p

im afriad i cant help with pics unless you want them in 320x240 LOL, i must admit tho the v2 isnt as bright as i would like, but it nice to be able to be scared the No Swearing! out of at night while playing doom3 or q4 and still be able to see the keys, (not that us hardcore gamers cant remeber where wasd ctrl alt and space are :D) get the v2 i have one and its ace.

EDIT: Tbh if you purchased that keyboard after wanting to get an eclispe i would hunt you down an kill you.... :p
