I have been looking at keyboards and i have decided on getting the Qpad mk-85 or the Gigabyte Osmium.

The only problem i have is the Qpad apparently the backlit failure is a common problem on it and also the lights stay on while the pc is off which decreases the life of the lights?

So should i get the Qpad or would i be better off not taking the risk and getting the Gigabyte?

I got the MK-85 2 weeks ago, you can turn off and on the backlit keys at will.

Lovely keyboard, the keys feel great. I'm one of those people who contact sweat so my old keyboard got dirty and grimy very quicky, I don't know what it is with this Qpad though, perhaps the material, but it just doesn't seem to want to get dirty, I've not cleaned it once where as my old keyboard could have done with a daily clean.

I say get the Qpad.

Oh i have the Osmium too, and the backlights stay on after a shutdown every now and again. Will try that fix when i get home. :)

Also, +1 to the GB, aside from that issue it is a fantastic keyboard.

Qpad keyboards are really good value for the money, ive been using one for about a year now and had no issues, i wouldnt recomment razor as they are really over priced.

I have a QPAD MK-80. I will test how it works when I get home with the backlight staying on when I shutdown. The thing is, mine is powered via a KVM Switch, which means they still get power when the PC is shutdown. So I think with my setup, if I shutdown the PC, the keyboard lights stay on if I left them on, and off if I left them off. Basically, as said above, they are independently controlled.

The QPAD MK-80 is lovely. Get on over to the mechanical keyboard thread on these forums. The Gigabyte I have read mixed things about. Some people have issues with ghosted keys (keys spamming despite them not being pressed down).
