Hello everyone,

I am looking for a keyboard (mechanical preferred). I need a silence one to work/gaming "sneakily" at night, my current blue switch got me caught in the act for too many times :p. My budget is around £50 to £100.
Thanks in advance.
Nice day,

Danny

Just checked, the current one is blue hence the noice. :P

Ahh, hehe. Yes they're loud

If you're happy with your existing keyboard then maybe a regular rubber dome short stroke keyboard to swap to for clandestine gaming / *ahem* other stuff?

the problem is that most of my gaming time is at night. I have tried to use a spare cheap £5 keyboard and got frustrated in the game pretty quickly.
second reason is that I kinda want to try a different switch. :p
I just bought a small wireless keyboard. £19. Awesome it is!!

what is the name of the keyboard?

thanks for your help guys.

Do you need it to be a full keyboard? TKL, 60%?

There is so many options now. So it depends what size you need first of all really to narrow down the choices.

Blues are super clicky loud. Do you like the blues though other than the noise?

I had MX Brown's and my new keyboard has MX Clears and I will seriously never go back, they are fantastic. But brown's and clear's would be my recommendation if you do like the blue's and need something quiet.

I have a mech keyboard with red switches and it is not very loud even if I press the keys hard, if I make an effort to type quietly (do not push keys fully down) it is almost silent, if you want it pretty much silent then get red switches and add O rings if still not quiet enough.

Yeah I like the blue one very much.
What is the difference between TKL and 60%? I currently have the Ducky Shine 3 DK9087S3. I like its form, no numpad. But it does not have media buttons like "play", "pause", "next song",etc... which is minor but I still need them sometime.

I searched for red switch keyboard and they have a lot of brands. Any recommend model?

It was from the purple shirt place, Advent is the name of it, its really lovely, no wires and cheap!!! £19.99

Cool I will have a look, it seems a decent choice.

Thanks guys!

On 60% you lose function keys and you lose the arrow keys along with all keys above those, DEL, END, INS etc. Your arrow keys etc are replaced by usage of a FN (function) key and existing remaining keys.

The 60% I have is the Vortex Pok3r. You do lose multimedia keys such as play and pause etc, but there is FN keys for volume control (pointless to me) and I do miss having multimedia control... My full KB is a Shine3 and I love having those multimedia controls so that's the one thing I miss on my 60%, but it's not enough reason for me not to love using the Pok3r more than the Shine.

Take a look at remaining stock Ducky Shine 4's in various places, you might find one in your price range, but the Shine 5 is now all but out I believe, it will be above your price range, but if you like the Shine 3 and can stretch it, the Shine 5 will tick all the boxes for you, it looks awesome.
