New kid on the block Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2

Ahh Sorrr ... Honalable Bushido. Bushido, the Code of Bushido or the Knghts of Bushido stems from the days of the Shoguns and their hirelings. latterly known as mercenaries. They have a code which adheres strictly to honour and loyalty and in this manner, twists immorality [of killing without a truthful cause] into a hierachy to be admired, maintained and revered. That’s the samurai. Now, what the heck has this got to do with the honour of designing good layouts and rewarding buyers paying top dollar for taiwanese panda tale designs, that’s akin to despising the punter for being a brainless mobo groupie. True or not?

Furthermore, the gang headed by Admiral Yamamoto who staged a “silent” coup before WW2 and wreslted control of Japan from that meek cutie pie Hirohito, a truly bad example of our Charlie, used this Bushido banner to spearhead the unfolding of the New Japanese Empire [through conquests]. These brainless ninnys have no concept of morality other than fooling themselves and, especially at that time, the typical Japanese, that honour [to the 2-horned gent] means Banzai [ie “for the emporor”]. Banzai is actually Chinese for “10,000 years” which trans-literates to “Long Live the Emperor” [the real ones, not that golden sample memory one, remember?]. That’s what happens when we demand that others do our thinking for us. Not only will they gladly do so, but they’ll rejoice in removing our brains too. Ahhh, to have the comforts of being a brainless ninny, ahhh sorr.... a 2-bit if you asked me. That’s what Ahsus told me ....

Btw, the worse fear for a samurai is “sepuku”, or self-disembowelment, where you slice through your own viscera in a precise fashion. It’s not so much the fear of dying [an event most have “mentally” prepared for “long ago”, much like what their modern-day jihadi counterparts are doing through brainless recitation of Koranic verses in a process called Manchurian Candidatitis] but the extreme pain it causes before flying off to Mount Fuji to meet some geishas. And that’s the same principle the Yakuza [japanese “mafia”] operates on. Truth do not require recognition but witnessing [for It has always been so whether we know/accept it or not] for beliefs are merely imaginations of the minds. We can rationalise through debates/committees that 99% white is “white enough” but that is merely politics. It is still not white.

Good m8 awaiting your results soon :) just ordered one myself as well ;)

Unlike some ppl do not like the layout i think if we give abit some time to get some hands on the bios it will be a cracking board.

There we go :D http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=113633

I'm thinking of replacing My Asus P5W DH Deluxe with this board. Although the one PCI slot is a blow, the board does look promising.

Could I ask a favour of the people who get hold of it first?

Does it have the P5W DH quirk of pulling the power when you save overclocked settings in the bios? and pulling power to the board when you reset it?

Also, Can you use the SATA ports as normal ports instead of Asus's useless EZ RAID wasting ports?

Cheers Guys - best of luck with it ;)

Got one on the way - should have it tomorrow. I'm a bit uncertain about it - the layout is a bit pap but I have no intention of ever running dual graphics cards so it's not a major problem. I'm pretty sure that although I have the LGA775 mounting bracket, my XP120 isn't going to fit because of the heatsinks around the CPU socket on the mobo. I'm also a bit uncertain about my choice of RAM - 2GB of G.Skill ZX PC2-6400 but I guess I'll find out how it goes soon enough.

Did want to cancel the order to do a bit more research but I was too late. Since I know I won't be able to resist it when it does turn up I might as well give it a go. Will keep you guys posted when I get a chance to put it all together. Oh yeah, I ordered an E6600 also.

Just jumped on board too....

£23.95 x 1 - Samsung SH-W163 16x16 DVD±RW Serial ATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) (CD-076-SA)
£194.99 x 1 - Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)
£144.99 x 1 - Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-053-CO)
£169.99 x 1 - GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)
£139.99 x 1 - Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-108-AB)

This is going from a AMD Socket 754 2.4ghz..and an X800 XT.

Will be interested to see how u get on Toekiller as that is a very similar setup to me and i am looking to get this board to replace my AB9 Pro, which i am having big memory problems with.

i'm also on the 6600 trail also just can't figure which board i want to guinea pig first.

as it's going under a single stage eventually i need something which can hit 450-500 for 24/7 use.....so either this board or p5w dh/p5wdg2 ws pro or maybe a 965 board like the p5b dlx, i don't like gigabyte in general so the DS3/4 is out of the question.

ohhh the choice :D

Got mine all installed with my E6600. Just getting Windows set up in a semi-usable state before I get on with the overclocking. Hopefully I'll get around to at least having a small play around tonight - will let you guys know.

Howabout some nice simple settings to follow as you ramp up the overclock ;)

Sorry mate, didn't do too much reading on the Asus board - what exactly do you mean? Haven't had any problems with this at all so far. E6600 is at 3GHz and dual priming right now.

i think hes refering to the reset it does when powered on,

when you put it on, it goes off and comes on (upon boot)

only happens over 350ish fsb

Ah, well I'm at 356MHz FSB at the moment for 3.2GHz on stock volts - I haven't had anything like that :) Running solid so far.
