New kid on the block Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2

any body who has got one does it come with an sli connector ? :)

It comes with one that's just like the ones you find with SLi boards - must be gearing up for a new internal Crossfire bridge? However, I don't believe that the AW9D-MAX is SLi capable - there's no mention of it on the Abit site, the box, the manual or anything.

gibbo please help is this board sli capable ? :)

Hi there

Unsure I believe the supplied bridge is for the new R600 graphics cards from ATI as new Crossfire will be via an internal bridge.

No 975x board are officially capable but can be made to use sli with hacked nvidia drivers. I dont think there are 90.xx or later hacked drivers though.

Yes I got SLI to work on the 975 chipset with two 7900 GTX's with hacked drivers no problems .They are based on the 85 xx series though.

This mobo does not support SLI natively.

shame still no decent sli capable boards or ones that will hit reasonable fsb's for conroe yet :(

My results where interesting with SLI

I got 10900 06 marks with two GTX's in sli and I get 10150 06 with my GX2

SLI aint worth it IMO.

I have just built a system using this board and an E6600. I cant for love nor money get it to post even 3ghz let alone higher. I have upgraded the Bios to the latest 1.2. I,m not 100% sure if its the board or my Geil Ram as i cannot run the Ram at its stated 800mhz without it locking up...

Another point ot note about the board is that if you intend to use crossfire you will probarbly loose the first two sata ports as well as they are in direct line of where the Graphics card would sit.

Can someone who has the same Cpu post there settings so i can try it on mine as its probarbly just me.

Cheers

After some voltages adjustments my Cpu is now running lovely at 3200 with no errors. I,m really liking the Abit board nice features and superb overclocking the 1.2 bios enables the multiplier to be changed as well.....

Nice one, what is your temp idle/load ? are you going to push it further? I was thinking of buying vertually the same setup but using my Tagan 580W Modular.

Idle temp is 35.c, Running Seti pushes it up to 45-50.c.

It posts and runs @ 3500, i,m going to have a play around with it this wekend when i have a bit more time.

Seti leaves a lot of questions :) Run dual orthos for 12hrs then you can say your board is stable ;)
