As per title i keep getting a cpu fan error on boot up, ive checked the conections etc all seem ok , fan in question is a gelid tranquilo , its spinning , so its working, worried now about turning it on , any help would be great.
Cheers.
Darren.
As above, make sure that the fan is plugged into the 4 pin PWM cpu fan header. You'll also have to enable cpu fan monitoring in the bios. Refer to your motherboard manual to find this.
hi guys , its spinning up so i take it its working, i have it pluged into the CPU_FAN_OPT conectotor on mobo ASUS P8Z68-V , in bios it shows it spinINg at 620 / 640 rpm , so it looks like cpu fan monitoring is on ???
It might be a warning on the main CPU fan header called "CPU_FAN". Try moving the fan connector from the "CPU_FAN_OPT" to "CPU_FAN" which is slightly nearer the Ram slots.
hi guys just an update , the low speed fan warning was set to high 600 rpm and was being picked up as an error due to the system being cold, have now dropped it down to 500 rpm and all is good , this would explain as to why it would sometimes boot up ok as the system was warm and sometimes go to the bios page when cold, cheers for the input hope you all had a good holiday.
i think that makes sences lol
