My dad recently bought a new HP Pavillion 15 (or something) laptop and he's telling me that it is occasionally turning itself off whilst playing Civilization 5. He knows not to obstruct intakes in order to keep the air coming in so if it is just getting too hot then i think something must be up?
Anywhere, this is the hardware;
I ran the Civ5 benchmark to see what happens but was only able to let it run for a couple of minutes before it spazzed out (just buggy i think). Below are the logs for the CPU and GPU's.
You'll notice that CPU 0 rached a max temp of 67c and CPU 0 Package reached a max of 116c! I dont know which of these two temps i should be paying attention to. If its the package temp then clearly that must be a problem since it got to 116c after only a few minutes.
Next two images are of the GPU logs.
Both seem fine to me. If anyone has any advice i'd really appreciate it because if the thing's faulty then my dad's gonna want to get it replaced ASAP.
