New Laptop Wanted, i5 2410m

Hello!

Recently been shopping for a new laptop, and i'm set on a new 2nd gen i5 2410m processor!

I was wondering if anyone knows of good deals at the moment!

Things im looking for...

i5 2410m
4GB or more
500GB or more
15.6" screen

Apart from that... just the usual

If one is out there with a slightly better graphics chip/card, i could be swayed too! But im not much of a gamer these days!

(oh budget is between 400-500, closer to 400 if possible!)

Refurbed DELL XPS has those exact specs with a GT525M 1gb and will be around £430 with 1 years warranty. The HDD is 7200rpm too.

Thanks dude, can only find one xps l702x, comes to £533...

Ended up buying another model, the 17R n7110. Came to £420, so more than happy with that!

500gb (5400)
4gb
17.3" (decided upon a 17 in the end, the price difference was worth it and it doesn't need to be 'super' portable!)
nvidia 525m

Compared to the cheapest of new i5-2410m's i had been looking at, was about 480 for a compaq with a rubbish shell, 15", without dedicated graphics.

Nice one, looks like a good deal.

The reason that the one that I mentioned wasn't up is that they go really quickly so you have to check straight after they are put up

Still have that one coming, going to be the household laptop now... going to get rid of all the computers/monitors and shift to laptops!

This one came to £475, hope the 7200rpm, extra 2GB RAM, 550M instead of the 525m and the xps shell are worth the extra £55... I would think so

There are now only 3 i5 systems on the site...!

Probably going to agree with you there

Now you just need a NAS to centralise your data to be a perfect laptop household.

I have that exact laptop. Mine cost £489. It's an absolute beast of a machine for the price. You'll be over the moon with it!

Do these come with an original windows CD or is it all bundled into a Dell "already installed on your computer" disc?

If it's the latter, can Windows 7 be installed on another pc as well?

It's the latter I think. And no, as OEM licenses are registered to a motherboard.

Ok thanks. I didn't want to buy a separate disc for my desktop if I could get away with installing the version that will come with my soon-to-be new laptop.
