New laptop. Windows updates cause issues connecting to uplay, windows update steam etc

What software is on the machine, specifically anything you have added?
When it stops working does it loose access to the whole internet, ie nothing works or is it restricted to steam, uplay and windows updates?

Can you ping your gateway (prob 192.168.1.1) when its faulty? (drop to command prompt, type ping 192.168.1.1)

And again what virus checker ect?

VPN working tends to indicate there is an issue with your network settings, when its playing up drop to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all and copy the text into a reply for us to see.
I think it’s related to a driver as all windows update installs is drivers after reformat.

All I’ve got installed is gpu drivers and uplay. Firewall is windows default. Literally bare minimum. Tried pinging that address you have me. Came back fine. I can’t reply to you on my laptop as it does nothing when I click send. Sure it’s related to the issue I have. Do you have what’s app? I could send you pic on there ?

This problem only started after I reformatted laptop. Was fine prior to that.

I’m on a 4G mifi connection as I work at sea. Along side at moment.

Hold on so how is this all connected up to a network?

Your laptop is connected to a router yes? on a lan or is it tethered via a phone?

Something really odd going on here. if drivers were not right then it wouldnt work via VPN either.

I have a MIFI with a sim. 4G connection over wireless. TP link M7350

it does work prior to windows updates, which are all drivers for laptop components.

im baffled.

Yes Acer Triton 500 do support G-Sync accorded to review.

It seem you will need to disabled Optimus and enabled G-Sync in BIOS to get G-Sync working properly.

I had a look at your TP-Link Mobile Wi-Fi M7350 router spec and it only supported 2.4GHz wireless band.

It look like your Acer Triton 500's Killer WLAN probably forced to used 5GHz wireless band, you will need to switch it to 2.4GHz.

Try update Killer driver and Control Center to latest version from Killer Networking website.

Ok I’ll give that a go.

I think only the 2080 variant has a gsync display as I’ve seen other reviews with 2060 that have no gsync....

Windows 1903 does not seem very stable - see my separate thread re intermittent I/O errors on my secondary HD, after the update. Blame M$ for that, not OCUK.
