New laptop XP or vista

if your not going to put much old software on it then vista all the way.
i think you'll regret it if you don't down the line.

Hello Chabsy, at this stage, Windows Vista without a doubt. My sister and one of my friends just bought a Laptop recently with Windows Vista Home Premium preinstalled and they are both running like a dream. I believe it cost them around the £450 mark and they are both extremely happy with their purchase.

Windows Vista is very easy and is an extremely nice operating system to use. :)

XP .Vista `can` have a lot of irritating niggles(IMHO)
and it will likely be you who has to sort out these niggles for your missus.
Just recently i have had to install some software on a friends vista pc,just anti v and fire wall, took all afternoon :(
another one i have still been unable to get messenger live working on after 3 attempts
but if you like eye candy and the challenge of some hard work get vista
just my 2p worth

Vista gets my vote, i've had no issues at all with it and stability has been better then my previous XP machines.
