New Laptop

So guys my old Alienware M14x is dying a slow death after 7 long years and its time for me to look at new options...... I have got as far as the new 8th gen processors and I am looking at the below two laptops.

Now I am not the most heavy duty gamer as I like to dip in and out when titles take my fancy but I'd like the option to game over the next few years. Now my budget is not the biggest around the £1k mark.

Now I am used to HP products and their reliablity from work but I am not sure with regards to ASUS, does anyone have and feedback or further suggestions.
