New Lens £500

So, at the moment I have a 350D with kit lens (which is parp) a 50mm 1.8 and a 70-300 Sigma, However I would like 1 GOOD lens, What would people suggest for about £500? I shoot any and everything from people, cars, birds so I know its a bit out there...hit me with ya best shot OCUK

Can you squeeze in a second hand 17-55 2.8 IS for that?

Personally I'd upgrade the camera, it's "capable" but a bit long in the teeth I think.

I probably can, been thinking about that for a while.

The camera is almost brand new, got it from my boss who went for a 5D mkII, he never used this and sold it to me on the ridiculously cheap, So If i can hang on to it for a little while and get great glass that will work better with a body later on im happy with that.

If you're lucky you should be able to get a 17-55 2.8, might need to look closer to £600 though.

that would be a horrendous waste of money when the tamron one is awsome and can be had new for £280
