NEW LOGITECH HD WEBCAMS - PRE ORDER NOW

the logitech s/w has no options to change encoding just what resolution and where to save it.

seems directshow interface will allow 30fps for 720p and lower but anything above that only 15fps.

I guess you should just stick to 720p then, not worth having a jerky blurry 15fps.

I hope Ocuk edit the description to show what fps customers will get.

will it record 720p in 30fps with the logitech software?

Fair question, have you examined an output file from the logitech software, i know you said it was not as good, but do you remember checking the fps of the output file ?

this maybe something that will be updated in the future in the direct show interface/drivers

720p is worse from the logitech s/w only 15fps.

1080p
Code:
Audio: Windows Media Audio 48000Hz stereo 191Kbps [Raw Audio 0]
Video: Windows Media Video 8 1920x1080 15.00fps 875Kbps [Raw Video 1]

720p large
Code:
Audio: Windows Media Audio 48000Hz stereo 191Kbps [Raw Audio 0]
Video: Windows Media Video 8 1280x720 15.00fps 2368Kbps [Raw Video 1]

720p optimized
Code:
Audio: Windows Media Audio 48000Hz stereo 191Kbps [Raw Audio 0]
Video: Windows Media Video 8 1280x720 15.00fps 762Kbps [Raw Video 1]

wow the 720p optimised is a really low bit rate !

looks like 720p is the best option then, via the directshow stuff in Vdub ......

to be honest, 1080p can be too heavy for a number of pc's so 720 is probably the best real world res to use. not to mention the serious increase in file size on 1080p
