New Macbook Pro

I bought a new i7 macbook today, its the previous model.

I currently have a late 2008 MBP with 1 ssd and 1TB hdd.

Is it possible for me just to take the SSD hard drive and put it in my new macbook?

If you need any help, iFixIt.com has some decent guides

Obviously, if the OS is installed on the other hard drive, you'll need to do a fresh install on your SSD. If the OS is installed on the SSD, then it's just a straight swap

He's asking if he needs to do a re-install or not, not if it will function...

A windows machine would not be happy if you tried to run it with an install set up with drivers for a different machine.

Well, I have tried just swapping a hard disk with a windows XP installation on it into a completely seperate computer, it had problems booting.

A Windows XP install can't handle being put into a completely different computer. Windows Vista and 7 can though.

i still have XP on this mac in bootcamp. runs a treat

also helps that this macbook pro probably wont run any other type of windows
