Hey guys

Just got my new macbook today 2.2ghz:D

loving it apart from the stuck blue pixel in the middle of the screen:mad:

What are apple like with dead/stuck pixels?

Would they send me out a replacment because of this?

thanks

As anyone else got stuck pixels on their macbooks/pros?

is it common with macs?..this is my first ever lcd screen with a stuck pixel....oh apart from my eeepc.

I bought it online from the apple store on the 9th deliverd on the 15th.

Dont they have a 14 day policy?

I didnt purchase the apple care...does that matter?

Also is it just a matter of giving them a call telling them ive got a stuck pixel and then return it too them?

Ahh great thanks a lot guys.

Ill have to give them a ring tommorow.

Also ,nothing to do with the warrenty:

Ive just had a quick look on their site and it mentions item over £600 theres a £60 re-stocking fee.

Would they allow me to return this and then maybe get a PRO paying the re-stocking fee?....I know im gonna lose £60 but now wouldnt mind the PRO.

ive gone onto the account section on the sit tracked my order and the return tabs greyed out and saying 'this item is not returnable' or somthing along those lines.

what do you think guys?

If not ill just stick with the standard macbook.

As anyone done the same with an imac/macbook with any problems.

Thanks

Normally you can only return an item if it was bought with a standard configuration. Any upgrades normally mean you can't return it. Although you have said it was standard. Best give them a ring and see what they say.

Oh and of course pictures are required :)

BeatMaster :D

hmm...i bought a Mini dvi - Dvi connector with it:(

Ill give them a ring anyways and see what they say.

Thanks

Ask them when you phone them if you can return it, pretty sure you can.

What would you plan on using the MacBook Pro for? If everyday use then the MacBook will suffice.

Go for it if you need the performance boost.

Well after using the macbook today and likeing it very much but id love to connect it up to my 30'' display which is not possible with the macbook.

which is pretty much the only reason.

the only thing is though is that i wouldnt be able to afford the PRO until the middle of december.

So ill have to give them a ring and say it doesant meet my requirments ...see what they say to that .

hopefully ill be ok.

Yep needs Dual link which the macbook dont support.

Called apple today and was easier than i thought it was going to be ...they are arranging a courier to come collect it this week.

Just unsure on what to do now....order a macbook pro replacment or hang on for the rumourd PRO in a macbook chassis.

One thing i did notice in the short time ive had the macbook was how slow it was at opening the various included apps....is this nomal with a mac?

It only had the 1gig of ram would 2 cure this?

Thanks

What do you intend to do on the MacBook/MacBook Pro as the difference between the two is mainly based around graphics as opposed to more performance?

Personally I love the 13.3" screen as it does the same resolution as the 15" on the MacBook Pro ;) Although the MacBook Pro does have a backlit keyboard :p

BeatMaster :D

I want to hook it up to a 30'' monitor which only the PRO supports.

If the macbook supported dual-link,id defo get another macbook.

Say if i was to order a PRO today standard no additions.....How long do they normally take to deliver?

It took 2 weeks to receive the macbook because i opted for the additional mini DVI - DVI adapter....do you think it would be the same sort of delivery time for the PRO?

Also whats the best screen to go with glossy or matt?

Thanks
