I don't think I can wait much longer though. Going for a MBP November time I rekon.

I thought a user HDD upgrade voided the warranty for MBP's?

If you don't damage the hardware whilst you do the upgrade then you're fine.

I will check, and post back when I can confirm this 100%. I'm 99% sure though.

Aye, really ****ing me off atm.

Its not like I won't work, its just a bigger version same dimensions, connection etc etc etc...

I really hope its coming.

Edit: Can put back the old HD back if it does go **** up...

Found out that is does void the warranty (on a MBP), but these are from third party sites.. couldn't find anything conclusive on Apple.com.

I know someone who swears it doesn't (so long as you don't break anything.. and keep the original drive), but I wouldn't risk it on a 2000k Mac.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'd rather not risk it.
I'll keep my fingers x'd that they bring out the 200GB 7200 HDD with the new macbooks then. Otherwise it's the 160GB 7200 for me.

It's not going to make a huge amount off difference because I have a 500GB external drive, but it would be nice all the same.
