New Machine, What Games to Test it Out?

Hey guys.

Just got myself a new machine, with a 24" monitor and an 8600. What would you recommend for me to buy to test the new system out . I'm looking for eye candy, but it'd be nice if the gameplay was good too!

I like most genres of game really, so suggest anything

Ideally it'd be a few months old, so i could pick a discounted copy up.

C&C3 looks cracking @ 1920x1200 as does Company of Heroes with all the candy on, Also try BF2 / BF2142 whacked up to max if u like online stuff.

Why is it everytime i read about an 8600 i think of jacob billing and "lets blow these muthas away"

Bear in mind that same games may run a bit slow on a 8600 in that resolution if you have the settings up too high.

yeah

another reason why a games which are a little older may be better. i haven't played games in 3 years, so i'll be impressed by most things!
