Ok...

I have a budget of £1000... I am either looking for a pre-made computer from OcUK....One i have been looking at and am very interested in is the Goliath...Now if i were to go for this what graphic card upgrade would be recommended for some who plays a lot of games but i wouldnt exactly say "hardcore" ....

Or the other option is with £1000 can i buy part idividually and build a computer myself ( i wouldnt build it i would have to get someone to do it as i would mess it up lol)

Basically i have £1000 to spent and i want a good gaming pc that will last and get the best for my money....So any opionions would be great...

Is there much differnce between 5750 and 5770? as there is only £20 between them..

Looking at the reviews for the goliath they date back to early last year...does this mean surely the compnents...mobo...cpu etc is dateing/dated already or..?

Thanks for reply

Ok last few questions :)

I was looking at the 4890 which is £5 more then the 5770...now i know this is just going to sound stuipid lol but in my eyes i would have though 5770 would be a better card because its a higher number?

Also case wise i have been looking the antec 300 does look nice..but maybe to small? so i was thinking dragon-lord or antec 902 cos there bigger and more room inside so things dont get to hot...

139sroberts....I have looked into making my own pc...but it would be my first time and just worried in spendng 1k on gear and just messing it right up.....

The things you have listed there...cos i have not made one before i have no idea what else would be compatible to go with it...mobo...psu etc...thats the only trouble

Ok what ill do is pick out all the components needed and which i think are good.... list them on here and let me know what you think...

Ok this is what i have come up with let me know what you think.

Processor - Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) £218

Mobo - Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £258

Graphics - In all fairness this is where im stumped totally on whats the best one for me i have chose this nvidia as i have always had nvidia but please tell me a better card if you know of one .... Palit GeForce GTX 275 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £184

Ram - Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (TR3X6G1600C9) £144

PSU - Antec Signature Premium 650W Power Supply £82

HDD - Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (0F10383) £67

Case - Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £41 ... Im chose this case as it was looking like the cost of all this was going up extremly high... its a nice case but please recommend better

CPU Cooler - To be honest i have absolitly no idea on this so if you could link one that would be great

Drive - OcUK Brushed Aluminium Blu-Ray ROM Slot Loading Drive - Black (Retail) £53

This has come to a grand total of ... £1047

Please critisize what i have chosen and even downgrade things so try save money if possible if there isnt much differnce in performance..

Thanks in advance

Yea been looking at the first lot you linked.... I want your personal view on something..The whole reason i am looking to buy new it because 3 days ago i bought a desktop from a shop....which was the Acer Predator Sniper system specs are....

#Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83ghz
# 4GB (2 x 2GB) 800MHz DDR2
# Dual nVidia GeForce 9600GT 512MB Graphics x 2 SLI
# Dual 640GB hard drives
# 750W power supply

Now the reason why im in a dliemma is becuase the one i have was off the shop floor got it home and the warrently tag was broke so they have agreed for a refund or a BRAND new system for the same price as this... this was cheaper cos it has slight damage and was on shop floor... orginally in store this was £1000 i got it for £800 but if i take it back ill get a brand new one for £800 also...

What im trying to get as is the specs in this pc....In my view they suit me down to the ground for what ill need it for..Do you think its worth the hassle of making a new one when i have a perfectly good system already built?

a lot of people said its not worth £800 but that does include a logitech G11 keyboard and a Logitech G5 mouse aswell, which i didnt think was too bad..

Just want to know if you think i have wasted my money totally on this machine i have now and should build my own... or keep this one

Thanks in advance
