As long as your 100% committed to doing it that way then you will have a better system at the end of it. But if you buy a £300 GPU now and then decide not to spend more money then it's going to be wasted because you'll have massive bottlenecking.
Personally I would get the Mobo, PSU and RAM first so that you have the security of the PSU and you'll be able to OC your CPU. Then you could get a 290x when you have the money.
I will say though if you only play VRC pro then it's complete overkill and the suggestions I made earlier would be very good for it.
Why do you think your system isn't running properly? You could benchmark/stress test it to check.
I have had a few freezing issues and feel sure boot up time is double what it once was.
Your suggestion of upgrading everything else first makes sense to me, I think that's the way to go.
You could always stick an SSD in too for extra fast boot up and load times! Before buying anything I would stress test your system just to check everything. If you have dodgy RAM, mobo or GPU then it's not much of a problem as you're replacing them. But if you have a dodgy CPU then it's a different story.
Ran cpu:OCCT for 45 mins, no issues, I have a few images saved but not sure I can upload them here?
Ran gpu:3d and within 5 mins screen went black no input signal. Had to unplug and leave before plugging back in and seems back to normal now.
OP's motherboard is M-ATX, would it not be prudent to find out the size of his case? Wouldn't want him to buy a motherboard that doesn't fit! Can we have a pic of the inside of your case OP?
Also I would personally leave the motherboard for now, I had one of those with a Phenom II 955BE in it, it wasn't a bad board.
Also as far as I can tell your RAM should be running in dual channel mode. Where does it say single channel OP?
I would personally make a new thread here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=8 in General Hardware with your question. Something like "Spec me an upgrade" as that is where most of the people who do this kind of thing are.
You will miss out on a lot of quality advice by leaving this thread here instead.
I also recommend not stressing your system too much with that PSU in it! We want to upgrade it not blow it up.
Yeah ok. Maybe not the best thing to do but he wants to test the gpu. Back on topic I would go for mobo, RAM, PSU and then get the 7950 later on. You just need to make sure the mobo will fit in your case.
Sorry, I was over dramatising it a little. It should be fine with just the 7750 stressing as it won't strain the PSU much, but having seen PSU's catch fire before it isn't fun haha.
The OP has made another thread over in General Hardware now.
