Ok so I am running an Intel Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz with only 1024 mb of Ram and I just got a new ATI 4670. Even so, CoD and CoH still run fairly choppily (10 fps-ish) when i turn the resolution to 1280x1024, despite keeping all other settings as low or off. Is it worth getting 512 mb / 1 gb more memory, will the difference be noticeable? It is original DDR1 so looking at this or the 512 equivelant.

Also can't buy a new pc cos im getting a laptop for uni in september, before you ask :D

Thx, Stew.

You need to overclock your cpu aswell, you should get that to around the 3.6-3.8 mark quite easily. If you have vista then get another 1GB from somewhere, combined with dual channel it should give you a little boost. Maybe oc your gfx card aswell, other than that you will have to turn the settings down or upgrade I am afraid!

CoH eats RAM for breakfast, so I'm not surprised you're having problems. Overclocking would yield a small boost, but considering P4s are pretty carp anyway I'm not sure if there's any point....although iirc you have an OEM motherboard, which probably has no overclocking options in the bios, not to mention a basic CPU cooler :(
