That ram doesn't support the motherboard you have in your signature :( I guess Will didn't spot it...

This would be the best for your motherboard:

"Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-4200C4 Dual Channel Kit (CT2KIT12864AA53E)"

Ideally you should upgrade your motherboard to one of the P35 ones first, and keep the current RAM you have as your processor would work in that (being a socket 775).

Hope I helped.

Is your CPU still the Intel 805D? If so, I'd recommend you at least get a cheap C2D and a cheap as P35 motherboard, if it's still over budget, then a cheaper mobo. Here's some ideas:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-100-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=913
AND
Intel Core 2 Duo E2140 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.60GHz (800FSB) - Retail
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-151-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793
=£115.42 Including Delivery

Or...

**B Grade** Asus P5ND2 SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi (LGA775) PCI-Express Motherboard
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-156-AS&groupid=595&catid=596&subcat=689
AND
Intel Core 2 Duo E2140 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.60GHz (800FSB) - Retail
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-151-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793
£87.23 Including Delivery

I think that mobo seems a bargain (the B-Grade one) I was tempted to buy it myself!

before u splash the cash...

boot up with old ram into the BIOS. up the DDR voltage to 2.1V and then put the new ram in.

Maybe if that doesnt work, set the speed yourself (so it doesnt say auto) to 667mhz or whatever it the max of your mobo is...
