New Metallica song

sounds like old metallica  cant hear the word's though, sounds like ive got my head stuck in the boot of a chav'd up nova. Not the greatest recording :p

[heresy]
I'm not sure I like it
[/heresy]

That said it isn't the best recording so I'll reserve judgement :p

I'm not overly impressed with it either Spike... Reminds me of St Anger a bit much - only with double kicks.

Solo is decent though and at least there is one.

NOTICE THEY PLAYED THE WHOLE OF MASTER OF PUPPETS.

The Darkness were also on and they did an AC/DC medley with the new bass player singing and he's brilliant.
I think Guns N Roses are on tonight.

For those who've still got old analogue SKY equipment, point it at 19 deg East and tune into WDR because they have a program called ROCKPALAST and over the years (since mid 80's) I've recorded some brilliant concerts off there.
Check it out -

That set list is awesome! I'm so annoyed I'll be missing them at Download this year, just couldn't go :(

Metallica are nowhere near the force they were in 88-93, i wish they would start drinking again :D

If I compare my live DVD's (converted video) from the mid 80's to the ones I collect now I would say that Metallica are a 100 times better now.
Their songwriting is 100 times worse though.

They played the new song at Download yesterday and it wasn't that bad.

Yes it was similar in style to St Anger but with a nice solo in the middle from kirk, so kind of a combination of their more recent styles.

At the end of the set Lars said they would be back next year with a new album and a new tour, so looks like we'll hear more next year (unless you get last nights show from livemetallica).
