dsb said:it will be the soft top option with the awsome wheels, infact its much better than the park lane she has now.
Cybershot said:Indeed, shared PSA engine now instead of the old Chrysler unit. 1.4 in the One, 1.6 TD in the Cooper D, 1.6T in the Cooper S.

Mr_Sukebe said:True for the "old" Mini. None of the engines in the new Mini are shared with the old car.

a1ex2001 said:18K that could buy a lot of car in the right hands!
Hardly the point is it, I mean if your going on ncap ratings you might as well get a Volvo or a Megan (Diliberatly bad spelling - Stay away you grammar nazis)

Fuel econmoy wise, both the R53 and 56 varients of the Coopers S, you will be very lucky to get anything above 30 odd MPG..
My R53 ONE gets about 43 mpg when im doing the run to work and back... and as for the engines being 'astmathic' id hardly call them that, my ONE even being the basic of the basic still packs a punch... the cooper S on the other hand belts.. have you driven one? because from the people im accosciated with, they say for such a small engine, its pretty damn quick.

I Get an average of 33MPG (with some spirited driving) and I've recently ditched the run-flats which has improved the ride and feel.
I'm sure the new one is slightly more effecient...but I prefer the look of the r53 by far.
