hey iv just upgraded my PC and am looking for a new MMO, iv narrowed my choice down to two games

Age Of Conan

Or Wait For

Warhammer Online

just wondering if anyone has played AoC and what they think of it, and if i should wait for warhammer or just go for age of Conan.

I'm a big WoW far and will be getting lich king, but until then i want to move way from it for abit...

Thanks

Age of conan was a massive let down, dont do it. :)

+1

Age of Conan is a good game, but the amount of bugs in it threw the experience down the swanny and become less enjoyable as i persued later levels. Got to the point of mid 50's i had enough and couldn't stand the class bugs, lack of endgame content and lack of quests (some people didn't have that many problems with the quests).

By all means it is a great game and is full of potential but i wont be coming back to it unless it improves drastically.

Warhammer is another story, have not tried yet but it's meant to be good. I have it on pre-order and im not in the beta so i cant really answer any questions for you. Best to look for questions in the official warhammer online thread.

I would recommend staying away from AoC, its totally unfinished and is rapidly losing a lot of its playerbase.

Warhammer is looking very very promising at the moment.

AoC is okay if you are the kind of person who likes to pay to beta test again. IMHO it shouldnt have been released for another 6 months at the bare minimum.

I'd say check WAR out. Also I know it's not in your list but if you want something quite polished then LoTRO is worth a look. Very good story (as you might expect) and the classes actually play a lot differently so lots of room to play alts.

Worth a go.

iv actualy got LoTRO and dont like it that much, but thanks for the info everyone il see if i can get a buddy key for AoC if not il wait for Warhammer

I tried out AoC for a month, but I tired of the bugs and lack of polish and content pretty quickly.

I would hold out for WAR.

I would hold out for WAR.

I liked AOC but even if they do sort out the bugs, optimise the client better it'll be far from finished and frankly still have some massive issues to overcome before it's a decent game that'll hold anyones attention for more than 2-3months.

Warhammer is probably worth waiting for.

my 2p worth. I bought AoC and got bored quickly, now I didnt get past level 57 so I cant comment on all the end game content, but it was a grind, yes it looks nice, and its more 'mature' in terms of content than WoW, but I still loved WoW a lot more

I have pre-ordered WAR and cancelled my WoW subscription, so my advice would be to wait fo WAR or as mentioned, get a buddy key for AoC and try it.

lol would like abit more to go on than that :P

Well theres just no point to the game, level up for what? pvp outside of arenas is a gankfest and there was zero endgame content, the big wars they promised, the seiges are nowhere to be seen.

I could probably put a better response together... But Im off to play eve online :)

Still playing AOC and I like it.

But I would have to say don't try to after xmas

Going to pick up War to see what the fuss is about

Warlol online? Dont even think about waiting for that failure.

As oppossed to playing a game that is a failure? As soon as I saw that AoC was going to be made by Funcom the alarms went off. I was one of the first to play Anarchy Online and that was a mess. It was horrendous when it first came out and people left in the masses never to return (sounds familiar to AoC). The community has very little moderation and very little Dev input (in fact I'd go so far as to say no dev input) the moderation that is there is for people slagging off the game.

If I had to choose between an absolute failure of a game. With features on the box that were promised not actually included (DX10 / End Game Content / etc.) or a game that has promise and is less likely to be as bad then I'd go with that.

warhammer as mmo's go is looking rather polished- as much as any new mmo can be expected to be, there are problems and issues that currently exist of course, i've tested all the tiers from 1 to 4, the end game city sieges are in there albeit not as spectacular as the podcasts would make you believe, but there is plenty of content whether it be pve/pvp/rvr that should keep you occupied at release and months in,

Certinaly it is going to appeal more to the pvp/rvr focused crowd a lot more than the pve/raiding players.
