Hi Folks,

I've got an ASUS M32A32-MVP mobo arriving today and I would like to retain the system which is mounted on a RAID-0 pair. I've tried pre-installing the Marvel raid drivers prior to transplant but windows (XP) won't do it... Will I be able to transplant then use the 3.5floppy to mount the drivers???? Your advice would be much appreciated :)

Unless the new board has a virtually identical RAID controller then it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to move the array across to the new board. It's not just a case of needing drivers, each RAID controller writes the data and configuration information to the disks differently.

Given that you're moving to a new motherboard anyway you'll likely end up with a fair number of driver conflicts etc trying to use an old install. I'd recommend a clean install on a new array.

Thanks RP, I managed to do it a while back when porting from a 'promise' to 'fastrack' (the current one, it was fingers crossed - set the type, block size etc and bingo!.... Mind you i've a lot more data now and critically my accounts stuff.

Might this be a good time to move from XP to Vista if i'm gonna go clean.
