Greetings all!

Been literally... well, since this particular processor came out since I had to think about maintaining my PC.

Sadly, the dimm slots on my Z77 Extreme motherboard have been failing one by one over the past year and I think it's about time I grabbed a new one.

Anyone got any recommendations? Will be buying new Ram as well so would like it to be DDR4 compatible.

I ... don't think that you can get motherboards that will take an Ivy-Bridge processor like that and be DDR4 compatible.

In fact the best you can do with that processor is another Z77 board with DDR3.

If you want to use DDR4 you need to upgrade to Skylake or Kaby Lake processors (or some of the more exotic Haswell-E chips in an X99 board).

Ahhh darn! I suspected that might be the case, given how long I've had this processor for.

I guess it's a good excuse to just build a new system if nothing else.

Thanks for the help :)
