Thinking of a new mobo for an Intel Core 2 E6750. I've always been an AMD/ATi man in the past so this is all new to me!
Thinking of the EVGA nForce 680i SLi will it be ok with OCZ PC2-8500 RAM @ 1066MHz? can some one please help/advise me on my purchase? Should I go for nVidia or Intel's P35 chipset?
My new rig:
Hiper 670W PSU, will my Hiper 580W be OK for my new rig?
EVGA 680i SLi
Deskstar 500GB SATA II
OCZ 2GB PC2-8500 RAM
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC2 768MB GDDR3 VGA
Intel Core2 Duo E6750

Should I also make the switch to nVidia for VGA? or go for the HD2900XT?

Thanks in advance guys!

Jonnygrunge.

Change the PSU to a Corsair 520 or a 620watt

Are you going to use SLi? If not get a P35 chipset board.

Also, memory, that 1066 isn't really needed.

Just get some Ballistix 5300 and that will generally clock to over 900mhz. - so allow a 450 FSB for overclock (minimum generally)

Here is what I have decided will order tomorrow unless anyone can offer any more advice!

if your getting aquad, i would get a cooler that would perform a bit better than the freezer 64, it's a good cooler, but it won't offer much more than the stock heatsink on a quad.. Go for something like the tuniq tower or thermal right ultra-120/extreme.

Also, that motherboard is seems pretty expensive when one that is less expensive should do the same job..

Oh, and switch to nvidia, the 88gtx is still beating the hd2900xt in almost all tests :D
