New Mobo, Time / Date reset!

Mate fitted a new mobo yesterday and he set date etc in the bios. Now, today, when he started the pc it said he had to set the time and date so he went into the bios and it was all set with zeros!

It is a brand new mobo. Could it really be the battery? He will see if it warns him again tomorrow.

It may well be a faulty battery, but double check the cmos reset link is not in reset mode.

read the manual that came with the motherboard, will show u where the jumpers are assuming u have them and how they should be positioned if u have buttons make sure there not sticking

Have a read through the motherboard manual, usually the jumper is near the battery

In bios? Jumper on mobo is in correct position.

Well, it is fine on the mobo. Looks like it could be the battery you think?
