Hi there im looking for some Recommendations & advice on what Modem/Router i should upgrade to. Currently using A BT Home Hub (first white crap one) which was given out by ISP and is known to be awful. I've always had problems with the current router i've got, it cuts out now an again it never lets me play certain games (mostly strategy where i have NAT problems) an i can never host games. I've tried all sort of options on changing ports etc an now I've decided im gona change. The speed i get from it is pretty poor, i have a 4mb Max line but i only get around 1.5mb an downloads are usually 100-300kbps if im lucky.

So basically looking for a New ADSL Modem Router that:

- Has no problems with gaming and NAT negotiation and works fine with a PS3.
- Good reliablity and doesn't cut out now & again.
- Good range.
- Good Speed.
- Has a Fair Price.
- Can share files etc with other pc's around the house easily

I've looked at many routers an seen mixed reviews on all of them, Some that tempt me are :

- Linksys by Cisco WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router
- Belkin Wireless N (or N1) ADSL2+ Modem Router

Help Much appreciated thanks.

Would avoid Belkin like the plague, wouldn't bother with Linksys ADSL stuff either.

Two options:

1) Separate the modem and router i.e. get a WRT54GL and add an ADSL modem such as a DrayTek Vigor 100 or the Linksys AML200

2) Netgear DGN2000 is probably quite good, their modems are generally better at getting a good sync out of a line than others (broadcom chipset).

3) Pick up a DG834Gt from aucition for a few quid.

are there any other brands/models worth trying and also what about the netgear Rangemax Modem Routers, are they any good?

Wont they just send me another BT home hub though? But the black latest one. I dont really like BT's own branded stuff, i've had so much trouble with it in the past.
