I'm looking to put together a new PC mainly for playing COD, I've not got the space to have two monitors on my desk so would like to send the Eizo back to work and get something that I an use for both work and play to replace it. Looking around at the OLED stuff, although nice, it's of my budget, I'd ideally like to keep it around or below the £300 mark.

Things I would like are high refresh (ish), 1440p, IPS (mainly for work, graphic design, retouching etc) and maybe the possibility of a KVM so I can use a single keyboard and mouse and plug the MacBook into it for work.

Gigabyte 27 M27Q-X 2560x1440 IPS 240Hz 1ms FreeSync KVM Switch LED Backlit Gaming Monitor £288.95

Looks like it ticks all the boxes for what I need but am open to suggestions if anyone has any better ideas?

I'm going for an AMD card this time around so haven't used free sync before, only G-Sync, reading up it seems that it only operates between a range that tops out at 144hz, when it hits this does it revert to v-sync off or can I set it to limit the frame rate? This mildly concerns me as I hate screen tearing/input lag.

That looks nice, missed that one, never seen a mini LED in the flesh before, a little over budget but not enough to put me off, I'll have a read up, thanks.

I am in a similar situation as the op (Don't want to hijack the thread :))

My current monitor is a 24" dell 1080p 60hz job and it is a bit long in the tooth. Mainly use my pc for gaming and internet browsing.

Any thoughts on the Asus XG27AQ ? Gets a pretty good review on rtings. Also looking to spend around £300 but can stretch to £350 if it is worth it.

Who cares about KVM? I have a KVM seperate to monitor cost £15.

What's point of built in iKVM on a monitor?
No idea, I just use the one machine for work and play, but OP mentioned it and my link might have been maybe not really allowed in the rules.

Seriously tempted to pull the trigger on this Coolermaster monitor:

Might wait until Friday and see if it gets any further price reduction.

Watch the monitors unboxed review. Ok but some issues like flicker.

Other things which he mentioned have been sorted in firmware though.

I’ve just ordered the Lenovo r27qe. For £150 I hope it’s decent, but can always return if not impressed.

I just bit the bullet on this:

Has KVM, laptop charging (I have a work laptop), 160hz, 4k. RGB colour and vibrancy supposed to be good. Flaws are:

- annoying 75mm Vesa mounting that won’t take a 100mm plate but I should be able to get an adaptor.

- bad HDR

- the usual IPS drawbacks on contrast

Reviews have mostly complained on HDR and price - but it’s a good sale price at the moment.

Should be arriving tomorrow.

That review and the updated one (With new firmware) has put me off :o

I am in two minds whether to just up my budget and go for an OLED. I don't play a huge amount of games so I am trying to justify if it is worth spending £500 or so. My current gpu is a 6700XT so 1440p is probably my limit for resolution.

This Asus looks pretty good, although they mention flickering/stuttering as well in the review, but it seems to be minimal.

I ended up going with a G2724D, it ticked most of the boxes I needed and was cheap enough to leave me some more cash for a better GPU. Arrives next week.

I received the Lenovo r27qe yesterday. If it was the only monitor I had and had nothing to compare it to I would say its a very good buy for the £150, but unfortunately I'm pairing it with an old iiyama 75hz screen and I really cant tell any difference in the picture quality, its just the improvement in response time that makes it an upgrade.
