New monitor dilemma

Ugh, choosing a new monitor is indeed tough. My current monitor is 27 inch 60Hz, I'm thinking of upgrading to 32 inch. I've kind of narrowed it down (I'm limited by depth) to these options:

Monitor A
32 inch
Curved VA panel
144Hz

Monitor B
32 inch
Flat IPS panel
165Hz

Use is approx 9 hours a day work (Teams, Notepad++, Netbeans etc), 2 hours gaming

Which would you pick?

I would pick VA over IPS
I don't like the grey blacks and brighter corners which most IPS displays have

If you play FPS games tho you may prefer IPS because VA apparently has worse motion blur which is more noticeable when playing games such as CoD

I went IPS as I wanted a flat screen and most VA's seemed to be curved.

Use mine for 9 hours of work per day and don't have any issues with bright corners here :) I got the Gigabyte G27Q, I think they do a 32" version too?

I wouldn't call 32 an upgrade.

I wouldn't get VA, so .. B.

32 is very fast becoming the new 27... its now the go to size.

I do like IPS the colours are nice, but right now i have a VA and its a nice screen.
you need to look at the other options for the screens. size is same so...

but GTG time?
response time?
what other features do they have HDR and so on?

What is the radius of the curv?

The reason why not would be lower pixel density. Assuming both monitors are 1440p. Unless you mean 4K at 32" or something.

That’s why everyone is still rocking 32” tv’s.
You know because of pixel density…

The most used monitor is 27” 1080p
So when moving to 32” 1440p it’s feels a lot better.

Good 1440p is getting cheap as hell and so is 32” why wouldn’t it go hand in hand as an upgrade.

Yeah there's plenty of ppl on 1080 because it's cheaper, and it's fine for most uses.
Nothing wrong with 1080, it's just the more inches you spread it over the worse it looks. But if the owner doesn't care, I don't care either.

so what your saying is most people prefer the pixel pitch of 1440p @ 32"

and now it is??

im very confused
Yes, 32” 1440p have only become widely available at low price points in recent years.

They didn’t exist 10 years ago unless you spent ££££ on a Dell/NEC 30” 1600p jobbie. So everyone got 27” 1440p instead as they became cheaper first and where more widely available as the next size up from 24” 1080p.

27” 1080p is just due to price as it’s one of the cheapest panel sizes, but looks awful IMO.

that's literally what i said.. now 32" 1440p is dropping in price its becoming the new go it...

To me 32" seems the logical progression. I started out with a 14" CRT, then a 17" CRT (that was a big bugger), then 22" flat screen, now I've had a 27" at 1080p 60Hz for years.

I may be wrong but 32" at 1440p should look better than 27" at 1080p. Anyway it doesn't need to be fantastic, my eyesight has never been great and earlier this year I got diagnosed with glaucoma.

I don't game competitively, if I play an FPS it'll be Fallout/Bioshock pace.
