New monitor dilemma

Hard to say because there are good and bad examples of VA and IPS.

And i much prefer very mild or no anti reflection. Screens with anti reflection can look rubbish IMO.

Also the brightness counts for a great deal.

I prefer a good quality IPS myself, i always liked IPS from the first time I seen it in person.

Had a 27in Samsung G7 and my girls monitor died on her and had to give her the 27in.

Searched for an upgrade and found the only one that can be justified to be a 32in Samsung G7... Not gonna fork out nearly triple the price for an OLED 27in.

So went from a 27in VA 1440p to a 32in VA 1440p. The experience is better and loads of viewing real estate and nearly negligable quality loss (lower pixel density but further away so you won't see the difference).

And now to attempt to defy the laws of physics...

Current setup with 27" screen 1080p - distance from back of desk to front of screen = 15 cm.
So if the new 32" monitor is > 15 cm from back of stand to front of screen then it will be closer to my face than the 27" is.

If the stand would allow for overhanging the back of the desk there is an additional 5cm gap between the back of the desk and the wall.
Which rules out all these tripod-y style stands.

I was originally looking at an LG but the overall depth (back of stand to front of stand) was 30cm, it's hard to say exactly what the distance (back of stand to front of screen) is but it looks a bit much.
Now I'm looking at the iiyama monitors, they have a nice flat square base which might be OK to overhang a little.

What's your viewing distance?
Though suspect rather lot with lego brick size pixels of 27" 1920x1080.

Actually 32" 2560x1440 is rather moderate upgrade in pixel density/pitch.

I started out with a 14" CRT, then a 17" CRT (that was a big bugger)
You missed 19" CRT.
