Looking for a 24" or 26" LCD monitor/TV

Been looking at this one...
Samsung SM-2693HM 26"

I need it mainly for gaming and some DVD's/TV

Price range around £350-£400

Want HDMI input to allow connections to DVD etc.

Looking mainly at monitors, or would I be better off with a LCD TV (saving some cash by not needing a TV card for my PC).

Was also looking at the 24" Dell Ultrasharp.....but have been put off by the lag issues.

I have the 2407wfp and it doesnt suffer from such bad input lag issues as the 2407HC and 2408wfp.

Nice screen.

....is the 2408wfp worth the money, or is there something better around the same price or cheaper? The reports of severe lag worries me with online gaming tbh

If its mainly gaming you do, and you sit directly infront of the screen 99% of the time you may aswell get a cheaper TN panel, it will be much more suited to gaming with fast response rates and much more suited to your wallet also.

Yes I understand that, but the monitor will also be used as a TV, so will be viewed from wider angles also.

I am unsure about a TN panel, but this one seems to get good reviews...

Also been looking at the Samsung SM-T260HD 26" for £356 inc vat

Cant make my mind up. Keep going back to the Dell 2408WFP but the lag issues are stopping me.

well I can recommned the 2407WFP aslong as you get a late revision A04 (most are thesedays) no banding problems minimal input lag and general schexyness

Why is that better than the 2408wfp?

2408 has very high input lag (things appear on the screen 60ms after it's been sent by the computer, that may not sound like a lot but is if playing fast paced FPS games, especially online).

2408 is also wide-gamut and hence many people may not like it as colours will appear over-saturated.

A little bit out of my price range that mate. Is the 24" version the same, or not updated yet? The 24" is a lot cheaper, so I may be able to stretch to that if I ask Santa nicely
